now that the Israeli Government, the Settlers, and the Military are intent on wrecking the beautiful olive groves of Palestine we can wonder at a wiser member of that community who in 1984 was making these beautiful pictures while living in a tent

When the Olive harvest is over, some branches remain on the ground which are collected later by local peasants to use for burning. The olive tree is a rich tree. The uses are numerous and recognized: olive oil, pickled olives, fuel for light, care for the skin and colds, crafts and a score more.

Order to Uproot Olive Trees in Marda.Aug.18th2004
Just last week, settlers burnt some 60 trees in Marda and today it is the Occupation military that will be going to uproot more, all under the same pretense of "security of the road". Already, the village is separated because it no longer has any contact with the other villages beside it.
