Hibernator: prince of the petrified forest
London Fieldworks

A Beaconsfield commission

15 March - 29 April 2007
Open Thursday - Sunday 12-6pm
Preview Wednesday 14 March 6-9pm

Working with the legacy and personal myth of Walt Disney, cryogenically frozen at the point of death, London Fieldworks propose his reincarnation as a hybrid character to star in their film, prince of the petrified forest, inspired by the first eco novel, Bambi, by Felix Salten.

For the duration of the exhibition, the artists follow on film the animatronic's solar-triggered journey through an increasingly unfamiliar landscape, far from the idyllic forests of his imagination.

Closing event 29 April at 2pm: Full screening followed by panel discussion with collaborators Steve Beard, Paul and Laura Carey, Bruce Gilchrist, Jo Joelson and Matthew Walker.

Hibernator: prince of the petrified forest is funded by Arts Council England, Henry Moore Foundation, Arts Humanities Research Council and London South Bank University.
