AIR SHOTS Yes, 1933, Adolf Hitler was elected But Hitler had thousands of corner boys
And peasants too to hear him out
but He taught them the violence of resentment That prime advocate of obedience and wrath. He conjured the violence of Slaves to
Empire. Whereas Charlie Haughey, Catholic pupil Of DeValera said......... "Look to it,
go easy lads , Make money, make money and trail
in emulation A galaxy of women, artists and other fools." Haughey died, old, in his bed Whereas Hitler saw shame Hanging out the jaws of his Alsatians So he shot himself. Jocelyn Braddell THE HANDSTAND www.thehandstand.org free on-line: The computer and the mobile phone Created by young men as tools To work for the minds great fertile Oppression But why do we overhear the latter Repeatedly used as an adjunct Of security only? Glad we may be to see man or woman, As if insane, talking, laughing, Gesticulating as they walk or sit alone There in the café. As for the computer Will you all praise Micheal Downs Who wants my domain name To try and make a fortune from hundreds And thousands of my readers? Jocelyn Braddell Feb 2007
THE TONGUE The tongue a curious limb The scientist has so far neglected. The tongue that measures out The imprecations of an entire lifetime. The tongue measures and permits The jaws to consume The breath to inflate the will The eager digestion of the spit That streaks the city walls along the pavement. If the tongue is deprived of exercise too long The other senses begin to tremble. Thanks be to the ideas Thanks be to reason Thanks be to laughter in the mind That keeps the tongue exercised.
